Good News - Those who tested negative against their Covid-19 test were given wrist bands and a key to their room so we can roam free!
We have regulations to wear masks while in the building and sanitise before leaving the room and before entering the building. Some people are escorted by guards but I assume these people were either awaiting test results or tested positive. Right outside the front door is a police bus with quite a few staunch looking guards.
It was beautiful to take in some fresh air and sit in the sun on the grass. I may have even got a bit burnt under the extreme NZ sun. Had a good conversation with a fellow kiwi who also lives in Melbourne. For a moment you forget just what is happening in the world until you are quickly reminded by other people walking around in masks and gloves. It is like a scene from a movie. We walk back inside, sanitize and then there is a knock on the door, mask goes on, food left in a package on the floor delivered by staff decked out in PPE.
Finally a nice hour out in nature for the first time in 4 days. Really makes you appreciate LIFE. Hopefully, they will allow us, negative tested people, to go home early and continue to isolate at home.
I didn't manage to get a workout done today but re-fuelled all the same.
I am very thankful for the staff here who are having to put themselves at risk for our health and wellbeing.
