Living Life in Quarantine Day #7

Writer's picture: Angela McMillanAngela McMillan

.

It was a beautiful sunrise this morning. Without question, I got dressed and took myself outside. It seems even in quarantine Saturday mornings for people is a lay in!

If I am to exercise in the morning, I love to do it before the sun comes up. It just seems so still and serene. You don't mind as much, you are just in the moment doing what you're doing out in nature (even if it is a carpark). The mind and the body seem to know that the day has begun when the sun is up. My body Is a sore today so kept it light. I am doing well at trying to form new habits of #noexcuse. This time has taught us that health is the most important thing at the moment so even though we cannot visit friends, family stores we can still move, we can still appreciate that our bodies can physically move. I hope we also take this time to really look at and understand the type of food we are putting into our bodies. We are isolating ourselves to stay alive but are we slowly killing ourselves with unhealthy processed food? I hope we all try to experience something different with food, get out of our comfort zone, challenge ourselves and enjoy the power of good food.

A beautiful stay outside in the afternoon sun and chatting to some of the other "inmates" everyone moaning about the lack of internet and low standard of food, the conversation then steered towards other countries who are suffering from the virus and we soon realised we are moaning about too much mayo in our sandwich???

As much as I would rather be at home, I am grateful for the accommodation and assistance I have been given. Yes, the majority of the food has been less than desirable and nowhere near what I would personally eat, however, it would be very challenging to cater for the number of people here and everyone's individual palates.

I am happy to do what I can to keep myself and others safe right now, but I am ready to get home. I am told should be only a few more days left.. fingers crossed!
